Sambal Terasi

Sambal Terasi is one of the dozens varieties of sambal, a spicy Indonesian condiment. Its made of terasi (fermented shrimp paste), chillli peppers, garlic, shallots, and tomatoes.

Masala Hot Chocolate recipe

I’m no expert, but below is what my household approves of

1. Gather your ingredients

Turmeric, ginger, cardamom pods, black pepper pods, cloves, cinnamon stick, full milk, sugar, cocoa powder

2. Gather your tools

Pot or saucepan

Pestle and mortar

Herb grinder (or use the pestle and mortar)

3. Heat up some milk

Heat up two cups of full milk, add 1-2 tablespoon of sugar and 2 tablespoons of cocoa – keep on medium heat

4. Grind your spaces

Pestle and Mortar: 6 cardammon pods, 5 slices of ginger, 3 slices of turmeric

Spice Grinder: 6 black pepper pods, 1/2 stick of cinnamon, 2 cloves

5. Combine and stir

Stir into the mix, you may want to increase the temperature, but don’t let the milk flow over

6. Serve!

Find your fanciest cup and serve!
